Round two of the 2023 British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) is just a week away, and the MV Truck Racing team is hard at work putting the finishing touches to a rebuild follow the spectacular and heart-breaking crash at Brands Hatch.
Despite a challenging weekend for the team at Brands Hatch over the Easter Weekend, which saw GPS issues during qualifying result in Tom starting from the pits for both of Saturday’s races, and a disastrous contact with another driver after securing poll for the final race on Sunday sending Tom careening into the safety walls, the team is looking to next weekend’s racing with confidence. The truck has been successfully repaired, rebuilt and reliveried for the up coming race.
Speaking for MV Truck Racing, the team manager said, “The setbacks at Brands Hatch were heart-breaking, especially after all the work the team put into the truck over the winter, but this is an unpredictable sport, and the top steps of the podium are earned by drivers who push their limits and their truck’s. Pembrey is a great track for us and Tom, especially as he has a great history of success at this circuit, and we expect exciting things over the race weekend.”
Pembrey circuit is one of the flattest of the BTRC circuits, but with a spectacular hairpin on the first corner that is virtually guaranteed to result in carnage, plenty of great viewing spots and the predictably unpredictable weather at the circuit looking to be warm and dry (at least for now!) this event promises to be great fun for the entire family.
This year sees the return of the thanks to Convoy Cymru, the Welsh home of the fantastic Convoy events, with hundreds of show trucks, music, and fun fair around the home of Welsh racing.
