Dropside and Flatbed Truck Bodies
Ideal for logistics, delivery, and various industries across the UK, our selection of flatbed and dropside trucks includes models from all major manufacturers like DAF, MAN, Volvo, Iveco, and Scania.
Our sales fleet features a mix of late-registration dropside and flatbed vehicles, sourced from our own ex-fleet or acquired through part exchange and similar deals. These ready-to-go trucks come in a variety of weights and lengths, ranging from 7.5t to 26t, with body lengths between 18ft and 30ft. We also offer a range of headboard and bed options, as well as additional convenience, safety, and productivity features that can be customized to suit your needs.
Dropside vs Flatbed vs Scaffold Spec
Though they may have many similar functions there are a few key differences between Flatbed, Dropside and Scaffold Spec body trucks
Flatbed trucks are characterized by their open design, lacking sides. This makes them an ideal choice for businesses needing to load materials with a crane, though hand-loading or forklift loading is still possible. The open design maximizes available space and makes flatbeds incredibly versatile, especially for transporting tall, oversized, or irregularly shaped items. You can secure loads using chains or straps attached to hooks or anchors around the bed.
Dropside trucks are distinguished by their short, folding sides, which hinge at the bottom to drop down, and can be designed to be removed if needed. This design provides easy access for loading and unloading and helps prevent damage to the sides or hinges from forklifts. If your business involves construction or materials handling, such as moving pallets of bricks, blocks, or cement, dropside trucks are an excellent choice.
Scaffold trucks combine the best of both flatbeds and dropside trucks, but often built at to have a slightly longer body, between 21ft and 25ft, often only having front and rear capes, allowing easy access to scaffolding equipment, as well as having additional systems built into secure scaffold poles, such as groves, more lashing points, fall arrest systems, as well as racks and headboards designed to be compatible with scaffolding equipment.
